Li Changchun satisfied with China-ROK relations

  BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Since China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) established their diplomatic ties 12 years ago, cooperation between the two countries in various fields has witnessed rapid development. 

  Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark here Saturday in a meeting with the Grand National Party delegation, led by Kim Hyong O, the Democratic Labor Party delegation led by Kim Chang Hyun, and the Millennium Democratic Party delegation led by Lee Jung Il.

  The guests from the ROK came to China to attend the third International Conference of Asian Political Parties. 

  "The healthy development of China-ROK relations not only brings benefit to the two countries and the two peoples, but also contributes to the regional peace, stability and development," Li said. 

  The CPC is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with different parties in ROK, so as to boost the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations, he said.

  Kim Hyong O expressed confidence that the consolidation of party relations between the two countries will surely make contributions to the smooth development of bilateral relations and global peace and stability. 

  On the issue of Korean Peninsula, Kim Chang Hyun appreciated China's role in the six-party talks.
