Liu Yunshan meets Australian guests

  BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Liu Yunshan, a member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met here Saturday with Christine McDiven, a member of the Federal Executive Committee of the Liberal Party of Australia.

  Liu, also head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, spoke highly of Sino-Australian relations and ties between the two parties. He expressed appreciation for the Australian government's and the Liberal Party's adherence to the "one-China" policy.

  The two sides agreed to make joint efforts to promote and deepen the development of bilateral and party-to-party relations.

  McDiven said the Liberal Party of Australia and its government paid great attention to the relations with China and would maintain the "one-China" policy and further advance and deepen friendly Sino-Australian cooperation in all fields.

  McDiven was here attending the Third International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) at the invitation of the CPC.
