BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Communist Party of China
(CPC) is ready to conduct various exchanges and cooperation with friendly
parties of the Philippines based on the principles of independence, equality,
mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, said a
senior CPC official on Saturday.
Wu Guanzheng, a member of the
Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made
the remark here Saturday during his meeting with delegations from the Laban ng
Demokratikong Pilipino led by Edgardo J. Angara, the Philippine Liberal Party
led by Rodolfo C. Bacani, and the Philippine Nationalist People's Coalition led
by Alfredo G. Maranon.
The three delegations are currently in
China to attend the Third International Conference of Asian Political Parties
(ICAPP),which opened Friday morning in Beijing.
Since the forging
of diplomatic ties between China and the Philippines, leaders of the two
countries had a frequent exchange of visits with the ever deepening of their
political mutual trust,Wu said. The two countries conducted fruitful economic
and trade cooperation.
He voiced his belief that with joint
efforts of the two sides, bilateral friendly cooperation will surely move ahead
and bring benefits to the people of both countries.
Wu spoke
positively of party-to-party relations between China and the Philippines. He
said the CPC is willing to conduct exchanges of varying forms with Philippine
friendly parties, so as to promote long-term steady growth of Sino-Philippine
good-neighborly friendly relations.
He also appreciated the
Philippines' adherence to the one-China policy on the Taiwan
issue.
Angara said the CPC has a brilliant history with rich
experience. He agreed with the CPC's principles concerning foreign exchanges,
saying that differences in history, ideology and social system should not become
obstacles to the development of friendly relations.
Bacani said
the third ICAPP will further promote Asian regional cooperation and compare
notes among political parties.
Maranon voiced the hope that the
two countries will enjoy long-term, stable development of bilateral
relations.
More than 80 political parties or organizations from 34
Asian countries are participating in the three-day ICAPP.
