Hun Sen highly values China's organizing work of 3rd ICAPP

BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun
Sen said here Saturday China's organizing work for the third International
Conference of Asian Political Parties was "very excellent and
successful."
Hun Sen, also vice president of the Cambodian
People's Party who is here to attend the conference, spoke highly of the topics
designed for the three-day conference which started here Friday, saying the
three well-chosen topics were oriented to both reality and ideal.
The parties attending the conference may be ruling parties, opposition parties
or parties of other kind. They are all interested in such topics as regional
security and multilateral cooperation, economic development and social progress,
he said.
Hun Sen also highly valued the relations between Cambodia
and China. He said the solid Cambodian-Chinese friendship, created by the older
generation of leaders of the two countries, is treasured and carried forward by
the new generation of leadership currently in power.
In
the economic field, Hun Sen suggested the two countries strengthen cooperation
in agriculture, labor-intensive industries,tourism and resources
development.
Bilateral cooperation will benefit both sides as
China has capital and technology while Cambodia boasts rich natural resources,
he said.
As far as trade is concerned, the two countries have
agreed to try to hit the goal of 500 million US dollars by 2005, said Hun
Sen.
