BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- At the just-concluded third International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) on Sunday, delegates appealed to enhance specific inter-party contacts, such as anti-terror cooperation.

Mukhiddin Kabiri, first deputy chairman of Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan, said that the declaration adopted by the ICAPP should include content concerning regional security and anti-terrorism cooperation among Asian countries.

Many Asian countries were haunted by terrorism, separatism and extremism, he said, noting Asian political parties should have a common strategy in the fight against terrorism.

Each ICAPP conference could choose one or two fields for Asian political parties to conduct substantial cooperation, said Dato' Ong Ka Chuan with the Malaysian Chinese Association.

"For instance, delegations can discuss cooperation in culture, arts, tourism, trade, economy and investment, as well as anti-terrorism cooperation in the conference," he said.

Delegates also put forward suggestions on future arrangements of ICAPP.

The year of 2005 is the 60th anniversary of the end of the World War II, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations (UN) and the signing of the UN Charter, and the 50th anniversary of the Bandung Conference.

Tetsuzo Fuwa, chairman of the Central Committee of the Japanese Communist Party, suggested Asian parties to hold various kinds of activities in commemoration of these important historical events.
