In the era of globalisation, the people, particularly the poor people and the poor countries are confronting new threats to human security due to sudden disorder in the pattern of daily life. The time demands more consolidation of fraternity between developing countries and more cooperation between people of these countries. The true fraternal relations can strengthen the regional security. Security means, 1) Economic Security, 2) Food Security, 3) Health Security, 4) Personal Security, 5) Environmental Security, 6) Political Security and 7) Cultural Security.

Equitable and harmonious development is one of the keys for social security. For achieving economic growth it has become an absolute necessity to establish harmonious relations with the economic policies of the developed countries and accept superior technology and investment on the global basis. In this process of mutual help and cooperation, not only the socialist countries, but also other democratic countries should be brought under the canopy of mutual cooperation for overall development of the Asian countries. Asia would thus be developed as a center of people¡¯s power, which in turn, would boldly and successfully meet the aggressive challenges of the imperialist bloc.

Economic cooperation and integration is a virtual necessity among the Asian countries, which will be based on the theory of welfare of the people of the concerned countries. Fields of cooperation must be identified properly, based on the necessities of the countries. It is also a fact that there is no country in the world today, which follows totally capitalist or totally socialist economic policies. All developing countries have learnt the lesson of deriving benefits of sort pragmatism for pursuing the goal of economic development.

The process of globalisation is irreversible as its acceleration and temptations are so high. But it is not the panacea though it produces multifarious effects. It makes possible not only inflow of technology and capital but also seeks to capture the markets and spread socio-cultural ideas affecting social life and institutions. Globalization can be compared with a bouquet of flowers, containing a variety of flowers of different hues and smells. The only thing necessary is to make realistic assessment of the scope of available. Each country should strengthen their internal economy particularly rural economy strong before opening their doors of economy for corporate competitions.

Political Parties may or may not be in power, may be identified as vanguards of people¡¯s movements. Throughout the world the political parties, irrespective of their basic ideological principles, are engaged in movements for eradication of poverty, illiteracy and ill health.

Our Party, the All India Forward Bloc believes that same as to the economic cooperation among countries, cooperation among parties is a virtual necessity, which will help to develop a united political castle. Exchange of views and sharing the experiences between political parties will equip the parties to carry forward the popular movements.

The All India Forward Bloc is taking this opportunity to congratulate the Communist Party of China for organizing this International Conference of Asian Political Parties to discuss a very vital subject of ¡°Exchange, Cooperation and Development¡±. We are of the opinion that it is necessary that the political parties of Asian countries must interact regularly for knowing each other and learning much from the experiences. We believe that the whole Asia has a cultural tradition ¡ª the Asian Culture. The issues confronting the people of this region are more or less same. The needs of each country in this region are also same. The political tradition and the history of liberation movements and the struggle for survival of each country of Asia are not having much difference. Here lies the importance of mutual cooperation and the necessity of party-to-party relations. The All India Forward Bloc will leave no stone unturned for making bilateral relations with like-minded political parties for better understanding and learning. We consider this is also such an opportunity. Therefore we have to exchange views, strengthen the cooperation and ensure the development.
