Unity Development Party has a good appeal to the 3rd International Conference of Asian Political Parties with hope that the conference can open and strengthen the relation between Asian countries to serve the people and world civilization.

As Indonesian political infrastructure, Unity Development Party always fights to achieve national development as pledge on the 1945 Constitution. One of the aims is to participate to make a world order based on peace, freedom, and social justice.

However, to develop capacity of political party in Indonesia, especially Unity Development Party, relationship between Asian political party has become a need. The relationship can be implemented by information and delegation exchanges to improve capability of absorbing and articulating aspiration and need of people in each country. The political parties who make relationship have to support each government to build and maintain a harmonious relations among Asian countries. We believe that relationship among Asian political parties can support national development of each Asian country, not only political development but whole development.

Related to the topics of national and regional security, in our viewpoints, the important thing that we should pay attention to is terrorism and separatism. In case of terrorism, Indonesia had been attacked by terrorism,who blasted the bomb in Bali and JM Marriot Hotel a few years ago. We believe that terrorism not only threatens our country but also other Asian countries. Realizing the danger of terrorism, we had felt the danger. Unity Developments Party supports every action to fight against terrorism. There is no place to terrorism on the earth. However, every action to fight against terrorism should obey the law and human rights.

There is a misleading and misunderstanding that had related Islam and terrorism. For this misleading and misunderstanding, Unity Development Party, as an Islamic Party, has reiected this calumny. This calumny is only efforts from neo-colonialism countries to discredit Islam and make clash between human races. Every man from every religion, culture, and country can do terrorism.

Another security problem that disturbs Asian countries is separatism. Rebellion with arm, who hurt and killed innocent people with a goal to separate and make its own government, is a form of human right abuse that can be categorized as a part of terrorism. Action of this group of separatism rebellion has disturbed government authority in many Asian countries. Realizing the danger and consequences of the terrorism and separatism, Unity Development Party proclaims and asks all delegates to work together to support each government to fight against terrorism and separatism.

Refering to all of that and based on our experiences, we ask political parties, who attend and participate this conference to join hands and cooperate to improve political parties and to contribute to our countries.
