On October 31st, Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee led a leadership group to visit the theme exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March with the theme of “Heroic Epics and Everlasting Monuments” in the military museum as a group activity to regulate the political life of CPC members. Members of CPC Committees of public institutions and the Central Commission for Discipline and secretaries of subordinate CPC organizations were present.
During the visit, the group listened carefully to the exposition, carefully watched the exhibits and enquired relevant information in details. They exchanged views, stopped and gazed at the display items as a way to pay tribute to the great achievements of the Red Army and admire the firm revolutionary ideals and beliefs, the spirit of fearlessness heroism and hard endeavor of previous generations. Looking back over the sufferings and glories 80 years ago, and combining them with the current practice of the CPC’s external relations, present leaders said that the Long March is a towering monument created with lofty ideals, dedication, will and courage. It is the most valuable spiritual wealth of the CPC and a great feat in the human history that is universally acknowledged by domestic and foreign political parties. It is also an important part of the CPC’s history.
Comrade Song stressed that the Long March is of great importance and profound influence. We should educate and guide all CPC members and cadres to inherit and carry forward the great spirit of the Long March, closely unite around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, keep moving forward without forgetting the original intention and walk a new Long March during the CPC’s external work. The group agreed to further strengthen the “four consciousness”, especially the core consciousness and compliance consciousness, firmly safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core and vigorously implement the decisions of the CPC Central Committee into the CPC's external work.
