Li Jinjun meets with chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Left
in the German Bundestag

BEIJING, April 25 -- Vice-minister Li Jinjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met on 25th of April in Beijing with Dr. Gregor Gysi, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Left in the German Bundestag.

Li congratulated the Left Party on their performance in the 2013 Federal Parliamentary election of Germany which has made the party 3rd largest in the Bundestag. He commended the traditional friendly relations between the Communist Party of China and the Left Party whose exchanges have been important in promoting a healthy and stable development of China-Germany relations. Not long ago, the Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to Germany. The two sides have decided to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership which symbolizes a new era for the relations between the two countries. Under such new circumstances, the CPC is ready to step up exchanges and cooperation with the Left Party and facilitate the implementation of the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries. The two sides can have deeper discussions built on their respective strengths and focused on the studies of socialism and capitalism, suggested the vice-minister.

Dr. Gysi said, the Left Party of Germany always attaches great importance to its relations with the CPC and is willing to strengthen dialogues with the latter and talk about the ways to cope with common issues and challenges the two countries face in the process of development and thus make new contribution to the development of the state-to-state relations.
