BEIJING, Nov. 19 -- Guo Yezhou, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Council of the China Center for Contemporary World Studies, attended today the opening ceremony of the International Symposium on Building Governance Systems and Capabilities of BRICS Countries and delivered a speech.

After a review of the background and recent developments of the BRICS cooperation mechanisms, Guo spoke positively of the role played by think-tanks in the process and gave a comprehensive briefing on the 4th Plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

More than 40 experts from China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa attended the symposium.
