Li Jun meets with Japanese guests

BEIJING, Sept. 25 – Assistant Minister Li Jun of the International Department of CPC Central Committee met this morning with Mihara Asahiko and Mitsuya Norio, both deputy secretary generals of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP).

Li reiterated that China and Japan shoulder important responsibilities to world peace and prosperity. The key to improving China-Japan relations is to return to the principles and spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, and properly handle the sensitive issues between the two countries, said Li. He asked the Japanese side to show sincerity and take concrete actions to create enabling conditions and environment for the improvement of China-Japan relations, and expressed the willingness of the Chinese side to work together with the Japanese side for sound and steady development of the relationship through platforms such as the China-Japan Governing Parties' Exchange Mechanism.

Mihara and Mitsuya said that the purpose of their visit is to pave the road for the improvement of relations, and that they will take the message of the Chinese side back to the LDP leadership, and continue their efforts to strengthen the exchanges between the governing parties of the two countries.
