Yangon, August 13th--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Chairman Khun Htun Oo of the Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) of Myanmar.

Song expressed that the Shan State borders China, and both sides enjoy huge potential in cooperation. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with the SNLD, so as to promote the development of relations between the two countries.

Khun Htun Oo said that China's rapid development has brought great opportunities to Myanmar. Minority political parties in Myanmar, including the SNLD, hope to reinforce friendly communication and cooperation with the CPC, so as to contribute more to the development of Myanmar-China relations.
