Beijing, September 5th--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with the study group of the Romanian National Liberal Party (PNL) led by Marian Petrache, First Vice President of the party.
Song said that China and Romania are traditional friendly countries. Bilateral relations have withstood the tests of international and domestic changes, thus constantly moving forward. President Xi Jinping met with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis last September during the series of UN Summits, which is the first meeting between the two heads of state. It has charted the course for the development of bilateral relations in the new era. China is willing to, together with Romania, implement the consensus reached by leaders of both countries, and take the construction of the "Belt and Road" and the "16+1" cooperation as opportunities to promote the in-depth development of China-Romania comprehensive partnership of friendly cooperation.
Song noted that the PNL is one of the important forces in Romania's political field. The CPC is willing to continuously enrich the connotation of exchanges, enhance experience exchanges on state governance, advance personnel exchanges and local cooperation, and aid the development of bilateral relations with the PNL, so as to benefit the two peoples.
Petrache expressed that this is his 4th visit to China. He can sense the rapid development of China's economy and society during each visit. Romania and the PNL hope to strengthen communication and cooperation with China and the CPC, and actively participate in the "Belt and Road" construction and the "16+1" cooperation, so as to promote the in-depth development of Romania-China relations.
