Song Tao Meets with Former Speaker of the Union Parliament and the House of Representatives of Myanmar

Beijing, April 25th--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) met here today on the morning with U Shwe Mann, former Speaker of the Union Parliament and the House of Representatives of Myanmar.

Song spoke positively of China-Myanmar relations, and expressed that both countries border on each other and enjoy a profound "Paukphaw" friendship. General Secretary Xi Jinping met successfully with leaders of Myanmar, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations in the new period. The CPC is willing to, together with all friendly political parties in Myanmar, enhance communication and cooperation and jointly well implement the important consensus reached by leaders of both countries, so as to push bilateral relations for continuous development and better benefit the two peoples.

Fully agreeing with Song's view, U Shwe Mann said that Myanmar treasures the "Paukphaw" friendship between both countries, and regards China as a trustworthy partner. All political parties in Myanmar admire the CPC's ruling experience and achievements, and hope to deepen inter-party relations, and strengthen exchanges of experience on party governance and state administration with the CPC.
