Song Tao Leads CPC Delegation to Visit Norway

From December 6th to 8th, Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, visited Norway, during which he met respectively with Morten Wold, Vice President of the Storting; Siv Jensen, Leader of the Progress Party and Minister of Finance of Norway; Ine Eriksen Søreide, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Jonas Gahr Støre, Leader of the Labour Party.

Comprehensively introducing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Song spoke positively of China-Norway relations and party-to-party exchanges, and expressed the willingness to work with Norway to implement the important consensus reached by both leaders, safeguard the political foundation of bilateral relations, expand friendly communication and cooperation in various fields, jointly safeguard multilateralism and multilateral trading system and give play to the role of political parties in promoting the sound and stable development of China-Norway relations.

The Norwegian side expressed that it attaches high importance to bilateral relations and party-to-party exchanges, respects China’s core interests and major concerns, enhances practical communication and cooperation in various fields, upholds free trade, adheres to multilateralism and opposes trade protectionism.
