Beijing, March 6th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of the Independence Party of Morocco led by Nizar Baraka, General Secretary of the Independence Party.
Song said that although China and Morocco are far away from each other, the friendship between the two peoples goes back to ancient times. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 61 years ago, China-Morocco relations have enjoyed sound and steady development. In May 2016, President Xi Jinping and King Mohammed VI jointly announced the establishment of China-Morocco strategic partnership, leading China-Morocco relations into a new historical period of development. The CPC, as a ruling party, is willing to further strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with all main political parties in Morocco, including the Independence Party, deepen the mutual learning in state governance experience, promote the two countries to strengthen political mutual trust through the inter-party exchanges channels and promote practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative for continuous and new progress.
Song also introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Baraka said that the Moroccan Independence Party cherishes its sound relations with the CPC and is willing to further enhance exchanges between the two Parties to push for new achievements in Morocco-China relations, especially the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in such fields as the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to inject new impetus into the development of bilateral strategic partnership established by the two heads of state. Baraka spoke highly of the successful practice of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in China and expressed willingness to continue to deepen the exchange of experience in state governance between the two Parties.
