Beijing, April 25th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with a delegation of political heavyweights from Western European countries consisting of Massimo D’Alema, former Prime Minister of Italy and President of the Italianieuroei Foundation, George Papandreou, former Prime Minister of Greece and President of Andreas G. Papandreou Foundation and others

Qian welcomed the delegation’s visit to China well as its attendance at the thematic forum on people-to-people connectivity of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and expressed that the CPC attaches great importance to dialogue and exchanges with European political parties, parliaments and think tanks so as to jointly promote the healthy and stable development of China-Europe relations.

The delegation said that Europe-China relations are one of the most important bilateral relations in the world. European political parties and think tanks are willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CPC to enhance mutual understanding and make positive contributions to the development of Europe-China relations.
