Beijing, May 24th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today at request on the morning with a delegation led by Hanazumi Hideyo, the Governor of Niigata of Japan.

Qian made positive comments on Niigata's adherence to friendly exchanges with China, saying that the current China-Japan relations are back on the right track, showing new momentum. It is hoped that Niigata could carry forward its fine traditions and continue to contribute to the healthy and stable development of China-Japan relations.

Hanazumi said that Niigata attaches great importance to Japan-China relations and is willing to play a positive role in promoting the improvement and development of Japan-China relations and enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
