Song Tao Meets with Main Leaders of Pheu Thai Party of Thailand

Bangkok, September 18th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Sompong Amornvivat, Leader of the Pheu Thai Party and Leader of the Opposition Party of the House of Representatives of Thailand, and Sudarat Keyuraphan, Head of the Strategic Committee of the Pheu Thai Party.

Song said that China and Thailand are close and friendly neighbors and good neighbors and partners who trust each other and cooperate hand in hand. The development of China-Thailand relations has been supported by all parties of the Thai government and the Thai opposition. The CPC appreciates the Pheu Thai Party's long-term commitment to friendship with China and is ready to continue to strengthen high-level exchanges between the two Parties, deepen exchanges of experience in party governance e and state administration, and make new and greater contributions to the maintenance and promotion of China-Thailand friendship.

Sompong and Sudarat spoke highly of the great achievements made in economic and social development since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago, saying that strengthening all-round cooperation between Thailand and China is in the fundamental interests of the two peoples. The Pheu Thai Party will continue to maintain friendship with China and actively support the joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative between the two countries for common development. The Pheu Thai Party cherishes its traditional friendly relations with the CPC, admires the CPC's achievements in strict party governance and targeted poverty alleviation, and hopes to learn the CPC's experience in party governance and state administration.
