Song Tao Meets with Venezuelan Foreign Minister

Beijing, January 16th--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Jorge Arreaza, Venezuelan Foreign Minister.

Song expressed, since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Venezuela have always enjoyed mutual respect, equal treatment, mutual trust, and sincere cooperation, and have always been real friends and good partners sharing weal and woe. Amid the increasing global challenges of all kinds, the Chinese side will, as always, continue to safeguard international fairness and justice, and safeguard the legitimate rights of developing countries. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Venezuelan side to continuously implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, promote common development, and push China-Venezuela comprehensive strategic partnership for new achievements to benefit the two countries and two peoples. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges across all levels with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), enhance exchanges of experience in party governance and state administration, and continue to support each other on issues concerning core interests and major concern.

Song also briefed on the fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.

Arreaza said, under the current situation, strengthening the relations between the PSUV and the CPC as well as Venezuela-China relations is of paramount significance. Venezuela sincerely thanks China for the valuable support, speaks highly of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and is willing to study the CPC’s successful experience in party governance and state administration in an in-depth way, in a bid to push practical cooperation between the two countries for further development.
