Li Mingxiang Meets with Newly-appointed South African Ambassador to China Siyabonga Cyprian Cwele

Beijing, February 25th—Li Mingxiang, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Siyabonga Cyprian Cwele, the newly-appointed South African Ambassador to China Ambassador at request.

Li Mingxiang welcomed Siyabonga Cyprian Cwele on his assumption of his new post on behalf of International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and said that China attaches great importance to developing the special "comradely and brotherly" relations between China and South Africa. China is willing to work with South Africa to implement the important consensus reached between the top leaders of the two parties, intensify the high-level exchanges between the ruling parties of the two countries, and deepen the exchange of experiences in state governance, anti-pandemic cooperation and national development, in a bid to promote China-South Africa comprehensive strategic partnership for constant development and benefit the two countries and peoples.

Siyabonga Cyprian Cwele congratulated China on the CPC’s 100th anniversary and China’s remarkable development achievements. He said that he will actively push forward the development of the special friendly relations between the two parties and the two countries during his tenure, firmly adhere to the One China principle, and join hands with China to fight the pandemic, so as to push South Africa-China cooperation in various fields for greater progress.
