Zhu Rui Attends Opening Ceremony of Webinar for Cadres of Iraq’s KDP

Beijing, December 21st--Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed here today the opening ceremony of a webinar for cadres of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) of Iraq. Jaafar Ibrahim, Member of the Political Bureau of the KDP, and other senior and medium level cadres were present.

Speaking positively of the relations between the two parties and the two countries, Zhu congratulated the KDP on its 75th anniversary and the good results in the new Iraqi parliamentary elections. He said, the CPC is willing to work with the KDP to well implement the strategic consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Barham Salih, further strengthen mutual support, enhance exchanges of ideas, promote practical cooperation, lead the friendship between the two peoples, push for more cooperation results between China and Iraq under the frameworks of the Belt and Road Initiative and the oil-for-reconstruction agreement, and promote China-Iraq strategic partnership for greater development. Zhu also emphatically introduced the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the whole-process people's democracy.

Jaafar warmly congratulated the CPC on its 100th anniversary and the successful convening of the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He wished the CPC greater contributions to China’s development and  progress of the mankind under the strong leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping. He expressed that the KDP attaches great importance to its friendship with the CPC and appreciates and supports the joint statement on exploring democratic paths independently and jointly promoting common development. The KDP is willing to further strengthen exchanges and mutual learning between the two parties in democracy, poverty alleviation, anti-corruption, and governance capacity building, so as to make greater efforts to promote the development of Iraq-China relations.
