Shen Beili Attends Opening Ceremony of Webinar for Leaders of São Paulo Forum

Beijing, May 10th—Shen Beili, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed here today the opening ceremony of the webinar for the leaders of São Paulo Forum and the seminar themed on China-Latin America relations in the new era. Monica Valente, Executive Secretary of São Paulo Forum and more than 60 leaders of more than 30 political parties from 15 countries in Latin America attended the event via video link.

Shen spoke positively of China-Latin America relations and mainly introduced the major achievements and historical experiences of the CPC's century-long struggle, especially the historical achievements and changes in the causes of the CPC and China since the 18th CPC National Congress under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core. Shen said, guided by the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Latin America, the CPC is willing to work with São Paulo Forum and its member parties to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and join hands to promote the building of a China-Latin America community with a shared future.

Valente and many leaders of Latin American political parties highly praised the achievements and experience of the CPC's century-long struggle, spoke positively of the importance of the Belt and Road cooperation of the two sides to the economic and social development of Latin American countries, and expressed that São Paulo Forum looks forward to strengthening the exchange of experience in state governance and administration with the CPC to jointly cope with the new situation and challenges.
