Qian Hongshan Has a Video Call with Jean Pierre Raffarin, Former French Prime Minister

Beijing, July 21st—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, had a video call here today with Jean Pierre Raffarin, former French Prime Minister.

Speaking positively of China-France relations, Qian said that the CPC is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with major political parties in France to jointly promote the sustainable and sound development of bilateral relations. Qian mainly briefed on the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping in light of the international landscape, as well as relevant information about the 20th CPC National Congress to be held in the second half of the year.

Raffarin noted, the current France-China relations enjoy sound momentum of development, and the two countries should further intensify high-level exchanges, strengthen exchanges at all levels, and deepen cooperation in various fields. Raffarin expressed the willingness to continue to contribute to promoting exchanges between the political parties of the two countries and enhancing mutual understanding and mutual trust.
