Chen Zhou Attends the “Journey Toward Chinese Modernization” Thematic Briefing on the Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress

Beijing, December 1st—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed here today the “journey toward Chinese modernization” thematic briefing on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress via video link. About 300 people, including leaders of political parties and organizations from Southeast Asian and South Asian countries, Chinese and foreign experts, scholars, and representatives of colleges and universities, were present.

The representatives present mourned the passing of Comrade Jiang Zemin.

Chen mainly briefed on the major achievements of the 20th CPC National Congress, expounded the scientific connotation, essential characteristics and world significance of Chinese modernization, and expressed that the CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with political parties of neighboring countries to jointly explore modernization paths that suit their own national conditions and serve their respective national development and progress of human civilization.

The foreign representatives congratulated on the successful holding of the 20th CPC National Congress, and spoke highly of China’s major achievements in economic and social development in the new era. They said that Chinese modernization is not only based on China’s national conditions, but also reflects the universal characteristics of modernization, providing useful inspirations and new ideas for all countries to explore the path to modernization. They look forward to strengthening exchanges and mutual learning with the CPC, deepening cooperation in various fields, and jointly safeguarding regional peace and prosperity.
