Beijing, February 24th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held a video call here today with Emilio Lozada Garcia, head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).
Liu said, China and Cuba are good friends with mutual trust, good comrades with the same visions, and good brothers sharing weal and woe. Both countries are committed to national development and people's happiness, and jointly oppose hegemonism and power politics. At the end of last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping reached important consensus on deepening China-Cuba relations in the new era with Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the PCC Central Committee and Cuban President during his visit to China, providing strong political guidance for the relations between the two Parties and the two countries. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cuban side to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, adhere to the road of socialism with its own characteristics, exchange and learn experience in modernization from each other, and join hands to build a China-Cuba community with a shared future.
Liu congratulated Lozada on his appointment as head of the International Relations Department of the PCC Central Committee. He said, inter-party relations have a special position in China-Cuba relations. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, our two Parties have continuously expanded the width and depth of exchanges, which promoted the development of China-Cuba relations and respective socialist causes. The CPC is willing to work with the PCC to maintain the good momentum of high-level exchanges between the two parties and consolidate political mutual trust between the two Parties and the two countries; strengthen communication and coordination, support each other in organizing multilateral activities for political parties; carry out in-depth exchanges of experience in party building and state governance and enhance respective governance capabilities building; strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the international departments and other functional departments of the two Parties, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the party schools, labor unions, youth and women organizations, think tanks and media, and push China-Cuba relations for continuous and in-depth development.
Lozada said, Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the PCC Central Committee and Cuban President reached broad consensus with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee during his visit to China last November, which reflected the maturity and strategic significance of the relations between the two Parties and two countries. The Cuban side is ready to further strengthen all-round cooperation with the Chinese side to promote new progress in bilateral cooperation in such areas as economy, finance, press and publication. The Cuban side welcomes Chinese tourists and investment from more Chinese enterprises. The Cuban side adheres to the one-China principle, supports China-proposed Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, and actively participates in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Cuban side is willing to strengthen coordination on international and regional affairs with China during its Presidency of the Group of 77 + China, and jointly champion world peace.
Lozada said, the inter-party relationship is an important pillar of relations between our two countries. China's experience of building socialism with Chinese characteristics, especially the achievements of the 20th CPC National Congress, provides an important reference for the PCC. Putting exchanges with the CPC at the top of its external exchanges, the PCC is willing to strengthen inter-party exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, improve strategic communication and practical cooperation between the two sides, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
