Liu said, China and Croatia have traditionally been friendly, and the people of the two countries share a deep friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China-Croatia relations have maintained the momentum of sound and steady development and cooperation in various areas has been continuously advanced. The CPC keeps in touch with major political parties of Croatia in different ways and is willing to further strengthen bilateral inter-party communication and cooperation, exchange experience in state governance and administration, and continuously enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples, so as to promote the sustained and in-depth growth of relations between the two countries.

Liu held that at present, the situation unseen in a century is evolving at a faster pace and the international landscape is complex and grave. China and European Union (EU) are two important forces in maintaining world peace and security. Despite some twists and turns in China-EU relations in recent years, the two sides do not have fundamental conflicts of interests, and enjoy a solid foundation and broad prospects of cooperation. On the basis of the principle of mutual respect and mutually beneficial and win-win results, the Chinese side is willing to continuously strengthen strategic communication with the EU side, carry out exchanges and dialogues in various fields, and jointly address global challenges, to promote the sustainable development of China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership. It is hoped that Croatia, as an important country in the region, will continue to play an active role in promoting Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries and the development of China-EU relations.

Matušić expressed that Croatia attaches great importance to its relationship with China and has always regarded China as an important cooperative partner. He welcomed more Chinese tourists and said that Croatia will further strengthen inter-party exchanges, deepen policy communication, and reinforce coordination in international and regional affairs with China, so as to promote the development of Croatia-China relations and the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.
