Beijing, June 13th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of senior officials of the Workers' Party of Brazil (PT) led by Henrique Fontana, General Secretary of PT.

Liu said, not long ago, President Xi Jinping and visiting Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva jointly made plans for China-Brazil relations in the new era, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations. We welcome the visit of a high-level delegation of PT, and appreciate PT's commitment to actively promoting cooperation between the two countries. We hope both sides will take this visit as an opportunity to further implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen exchanges between the ruling parties, and enhance political mutual trust and experience exchange in state governance and administration, and push cooperation between counterpart departments of the two Parties, think tanks and media. We firmly support each other's core interests and support each other in choosing a development path that suits respective national conditions. We stand ready to jointly implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, and continuously push China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership for new development.

Liu said, the current international situation is changing rapidly. The strategic significance and overall influence of relations between China and Brazil, the two major developing countries and important emerging markets, have become increasingly prominent. The CPC adheres to the people-centered development philosophy and promotes high-quality development and high-level opening-up. Our efforts in promoting the process of Chinese modernization will not only help the Chinese people achieve common prosperity, but will also bring more development opportunities to countries around the world, including Brazil. The Chinese side supports the Brazilian side in playing a greater role on the international stage. It is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Brazilian side under multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations and the BRICS, make good use of platforms such as the dialogue among BRICS political parties and the China-CELAC Political Parties Forum, work for greater democracy in international relations, advance multilateralism, safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Fontana said, I led a delegation of PT senior officials to visit China shortly after Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's visit to China in April. This fully shows that PT attaches high importance to developing relations with the CPC. Next year will be the 40th anniversary of the establishment of relations between our two Parties. The Brazilian side hopes to see inter-party exchanges play a greater role in deepening relations between the two countries and friendship between the two peoples. PT admires the huge success of the CPC in promoting domestic development with a people-centered approach and responding to international challenges. The Brazilian side pays close attention to China's blueprint for future development drawn at the 20th CPC National Congress, and believes that China's successful development model provides important references for the vast number of developing countries. The Brazilian side hopes to strengthen high-level exchanges with the Chinese side, enhance mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance, and facilitate Brazil-China cooperation in various fields. Fontana said, we highly appreciate China's support for countries in independently choosing development paths, applaud the Chinese side's important role in promoting the political settlement of the Ukraine issue, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side under the framework of the United Nations, the Group of 20, and the BRICS, oppose the new Cold War mentality, champion multilateralism, and together build a multi-polar and prosperous world.
