A CPC Delegation Visits Kiribati, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea

At the invitation of Tobwaan Kiribati Party of Kiribati, OUR Party of Solomon Islands, and Papua and Niugini Union Party (PANGU) of Papua New Guinea, Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, led a CPC delegation to visit the three countries from October 22nd to the 31st.

In Kiribati, the CPC delegation met respectively with Ruateki Tekaiara, Cabinet Member and Minister for Environment, Lands and Agriculture Development, Tetiro Semilota, Acting Chief Justice, Tekeeua Tarati, Minister for Information, Communication, Transport and Tourism Development, Betero Atanibora, Chairman of the Tobwaan Kiribati Party, and others.

In Solomon Islands, Manasseh Sogavare, Leader of OUR Party and Prime Minister of Solomon Islands met with the CPC delegation. The delegation also had exchanges respectively with Bradley Tovosia, Deputy Leader of OUR Party and Minister of Mines, Jeremiah Manele, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade and representatives of major political parties of National Parliament of Solomon Islands.

In Papua New Guinea, James Marape, Leader of the Pangu Party and Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea met with the CPC delegation. The delegation also met respectively with Peter O'Neill, Leader of the People's National Congress party and former Prime Minister, Joseph Dennis Lelang, Leader of the opposition wing in the Parliament, Morris Tovebae, General Secretary of the Pangu party, and others.

The political heavyweights of the three countries said, China and Pacific Island Countries (PICs) are old friends who have known each other for many years. They looked forward to close exchanges with the Chinese side to continuously consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and push bilateral relations and China-PICs relations for further development.
