Liu said, the Chinese side appreciates the important role played by the UN in leading the international community to respond to various risks and challenges, and supports the Secretary-General’s efforts to maintain international peace and security, and promote common development. China has always firmly upheld the international system with the UN at its core, the international order underpinned by international law, and the fundamental norms governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the Charter of the UN. China faithfully fulfills its responsibilities and missions as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, actively participates in cooperation in various fields under the framework of the UN, practices true multilateralism, and promotes the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Liu said, in March 2023, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the Global Civilization Initiative at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting, conveying to the world the sincere wish that China is willing to work with all countries to advocate the diversity of world civilizations, promote exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations, and promote the development and progress of human civilization. The Global Civilization Initiative is another important public good provided by China to the international community after the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen cooperation with the UN, deepen communication and docking with the UN and its specialized agencies, and jointly promote the implementation of the Global Civilization Initiative.

Mutual learning among civilizations plays an important role in human progress. Different civilizations have made important contributions at different historical stages of human development. With the world today undergoing complex and profound changes, maintaining the diversity of civilizations is of special significance. The UN is willing to work with the Chinese side to maintain communication and cooperation on the Global Civilization Initiative.
