Beijing, February 27th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Bunyad Huseynov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to China.   

Liu said, China and Azerbaijan are traditional friendly cooperative partners. Under the strategic guidance and personal promotion of President Xi Jinping and President Ilham Aliyev, political mutual trust between the two sides has been continuously deepened, with cooperation in various areas solidly advanced. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Azerbaijani side to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, continue to deepen strategic mutual trust, strengthen the docking of development strategies, and promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) between China and Azerbaijan for more tangible results. Exchanges between the ruling parties of China and Azerbaijan are an important part of the relations between the two countries. The CPC is uniting and leading the Chinese people to comprehensively promote Chinese modernization, and is ready to work with the New Azerbaijan Party to strengthen exchanges between the two Parties at all levels, jointly build more platforms for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and continuously boost the development of China-Azerbaijan relations.   

Huseynov said, Azerbaijan has always regarded developing relations with China as a diplomatic priority, and always adhered to the one-China principle. It firmly supports the Chinese side's positions on the Taiwan question, issues related to Hong Kong and Xinjiang, and supports the joint construction of the BRI and three major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. It is willing to, together with the Chinese side, deepen practical cooperation in economy, trade, investment, green energy, local exchanges, cultural tourism, and response to climate change, strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and push bilateral relations for continuous development. The Azerbaijani side looks forward to strengthening exchanges of high-level visits and youth exchanges between the two countries' ruling parties. The Azerbaijani Embassy in China is willing to play an active role in this regard.
