Liu Jianchao Meets with Chang Lih Kang, Vice President of the PKR and Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia

Beijing, April 25th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Chang Lih Kang, Vice President of the People's Justice Party (PKR) and Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia.  


Liu said, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reached consensus on building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future, which has become an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations. The Chinese side appreciates the Malaysian side for adhering to an independent foreign policy and its friendship with China. It is willing to, together with the Malaysian side, take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to continuously enhance mutual trust, deepen friendship, strengthen cooperation in areas such as scientific and technological innovation and emerging industries, deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and continue the traditional friendship between the two countries. The CPC is willing to strengthen institutionalized exchanges with the PKR to help China-Malaysia relations usher in a more glorious 50 years.  

Chang Lih Kang said, Malaysia and China have a long-standing friendship. Since the beginning of this year, exchanges at all levels have become increasingly close. The Malaysian side hopes to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries with the Chinese side, deepen cooperation in science and technology, people-to-people and cultural engagement, etc., to better benefit the two countries and peoples and jointly promote regional peace and stability. The PKR cherishes its friendship with the CPC and is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with the CPC to push Malaysia-China relations for better development.
