Sun Haiyan Meets with Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Principal Secretary to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh

Beijing, May 9th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah, the Principal Secretary to the Hon'ble Prime Minister in the Prime Minister's Office of Bangladesh, at request. Md. Jashim Uddin, Bangladeshi Ambassador to China, and others were present.  


Sun said, China and Bangladesh are traditional friendly neighbors. With mutual respect and equal treatment, the two countries have always pursued mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and supported each other on issues concerning respective core interests. In recent years, under the joint guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Bangladesh relations have maintained sound development momentum. The CPC is ready to work with Bangladeshi political parties, including the Awami League (AL), to deepen exchanges and interactions, implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen mutual learning, carry forward traditional friendship, and push China-Bangladesh strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.  

Miah said, the long-standing friendship between Bangladesh and China is deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples. In recent years, the two countries have achieved fruitful results in the Belt and Road cooperation. Projects such as the Bangladesh-China friendship bridges have played an important role in promoting Bangladesh's economic development and improving people's lives. The Bangladeshi side firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and is willing to further deepen bilateral relations, strengthen inter-party exchanges, strengthen the docking of development strategies, and expand cooperation in agriculture, food processing, communication technology, climate change and other fields. Bangladesh expects more Chinese companies to invest and start businesses in Bangladesh to help Bangladesh achieve greater development.
