Liu Jianchao Meets with Ishaq Dar, Leader of the PML-N, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan

Beijing, May 14th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Ishaq Dar, Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan.  


Liu said, the Chinese side is willing to work together with the Pakistani side to well implement the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and Pakistani leaders, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly upgrade the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and transform the complementary advantages of the two countries into tangible development outcomes to accelerate the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era. The CPC and the PML-N have maintained long-term friendly exchanges, playing a unique role in consolidating the political foundation of bilateral relations and promoting pragmatic cooperation in various fields. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with major political parties in Pakistan, including the PML-N, deepen cooperation in youth, media, and other fields, and promote the development of the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.  

Dar said that Pakistan and China are ironclad brothers and the two peoples enjoy a long history of friendship. The Pakistani side is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with the Chinese side and deepen practical cooperation in various fields. The Pakistan-China Economic Corridor is a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative and has made important contributions to the economic and social development of Pakistan. The Pakistani side will resolutely crack down on terrorism and do its utmost to protect the safety of Chinese nationals and institutions in Pakistan. The PML-N cherishes friendly relations with the CPC and is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties.
