On April 23rd, the thematic briefing "Stories of CPC—Achievements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in Practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era", co-hosted by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Themed "A Strategic Underpinning for a New Development Paradigm, a Demonstration Area for High-quality Development, and a Pacesetter of Chinese Modernization," the briefing showcased vivid practices and fruitful outcomes of China's in-depth implementation of the coordinated regional development strategy and advancement of Chinese modernization under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, through stories of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) working together to build a world-class bay area and city cluster in recent years. Over 160 participants were present, including political party leaders, think tank scholars, and business representatives from more than 40 countries, including Vlad Batrincea, Deputy Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament and Member of the Executive Committee of the Party of Socialists of Moldova, and Phillip Rolle, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly and Labour Youth Coordinator of Dominica. 

Huang Kunming, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, said that the construction of the GBA is a major national strategy personally planned, deployed and promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The GBA is exploring a new way of integrated development under the "one country, two systems" framework, riding the wave of deepening reform and opening up, gathering robust momentum toward high-quality development, and depicting a vivid blueprint of beautiful ecology, cultural prosperity and people's well-being. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), with the rollout of a host of major favorable policies, the development of the GBA will embrace greater opportunities and broader prospects. Guangdong will keep in mind General Secretary Xi's earnest instructions, strive to build the GBA into a strategic underpinning for a new development paradigm, a demonstration area for high-quality development, and a pacesetter of Chinese modernization, effectively fulfill its role as the main force and locomotive, and work with Hong Kong and Macao to accelerate the development of a world-class and top-performing bay area. The 33rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, attracting global attention once again to the GBA and bringing new opportunities and possibilities. Guests are warmly invited to visit and experience the new changes in the GBA and the new dynamics of Chinese modernization, so that the guests will strengthen confidence in cooperating with China, and achieve win-win development while sharing China's opportunities. 

Liu Haixing, Minister of the IDCPC, said that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China has thoroughly implemented the regional coordinated development strategy, promoted coordinated development centered on the people, with complementary advantages, smooth circulation, green development, and open cooperation, achieving significant accomplishments. The fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee held last year and the recent Two Sessions have outlined new strategic arrangements for coordinated regional development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. China will continue to enhance internal dynamism and development resilience of China's economy through coordinated and interconnected regional development, actively respond to changes in the external environment, and strive to achieve long-term sustainable development. The CPC stands ready to work with political parties worldwide to stay independent, pursue innovation-driven growth and open cooperation, firmly grasp the initiative of development, foster a sound innovation ecosystem, resolutely safeguard a fair and open international economic and trade order, and realize common prosperity and development. 

During a story-sharing session, grassroots representatives from various industries in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao shared vivid stories of the GBA from the perspectives of infrastructure connectivity, technological innovation, opening up and ensuring people's livelihood. 

Chinese and foreign officials, scholars and enterprise representatives also held a dialogue on the theme of "The Greater Bay Area and the World." 

Foreign participants said, by attending the briefing and visiting the GBA, they witnessed the remarkable achievements in its development. The GBA's progress stems from General Secretary Xi Jinping's wise decisions and the CPC's strong leadership, reflecting China's capability and advantages in integrating industrial growth with ecological responsibility, opening-up with internal coordination, and market competition with national planning. China's implementation of the coordinated regional development strategy and pursuit of high-quality development offer valuable reference for countries addressing development imbalances and present significant cooperation opportunities. They also expressed willingness to deepen exchanges on state governance experience with the CPC and work together to advance modernization.

Wang Xi, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee; Jin Lei, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee; and Hu Jinjun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, were present.
