On November 11th, a symposium for Chinese and international spokespersons was held in Beijing. The theme of the symposium was "international public opinion environment and the role of spokespersons". Participants included spokespersons and publicity affairs principal officials from political parties of Pakistan, Mongolia, South Africa, Peru and other countries, as well as Zhou Jianshe, Spokesperson and Deputy Director-General of the Press Bureau of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee (State Council Information Office), Guo Jiakun, Deputy Director General of the Department of Press, Communication and Public Diplomacy and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xing, Deputy Director of the General Office, Director of the Information Office, and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Li Kexin, Deputy Director of the General Office and Spokesperson of the People's Bank of China, and Wang Guannan, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Spokesperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Hu Zhaoming, Director General of the Bureau of Public Information and Communication and Spokesperson of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the symposium.
