Beijing, June 4th—Jin Xin, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Omar Issa Ahmed, the newly-appointed Sudanese Ambassador to China.

Jin welcomed Omar on his assumption of the new post in China and noted that China and Sudan are good friends who stand together through thick and thin. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Chairman Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the China-Sudan strategic partnership is moving forward steadily. China firmly supports Sudan in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and supports Sudan in achieving peace, stability and development at an early date. The CPC stands ready to maintain friendly exchanges and strengthen ideological communication with Sudan’s major political parties and political organizations to promote the development of China-Sudan relations. In light of the international and regional situation, Jin also briefed on President Xi Jinping’s vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, the Belt and Road Initiative, the four major global initiatives, and the four-point proposal on safeguarding and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.

Omar stated that Sudan and China enjoy a time-honored friendship and that bilateral relations have enjoyed a solid foundation. He thanked China for its valuable support and humanitarian assistance to Sudan over the years, and for speaking up for Sudan on international occasions, and expressed the hope that China would take an active part in Sudan’s reconstruction and development. The series of major ideas and initiatives put forth by President Xi Jinping carries great significance for the world, and Sudan gives them its full support. The Sudanese Embassy in China stands ready to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between the political parties of the two countries, contribute to the development of the Sudan-China strategic partnership, and bring benefits to the two peoples. 

The two sides also exchanged views on hotspot issues in the Middle East.
