Beijing, July 16th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Martin Engell-Rossen, Chief Advisor of the Central Coordination Committee of the Danish Social Democratic Party.

Lu said that China and Denmark enjoy traditional friendship and a long history of exchanges. Last year, the two countries jointly celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. President Xi Jinping and King Frederik X exchanged congratulatory messages, expressing earnest expectations for new development of China-Denmark relations from a new starting point. China is ready to work with Denmark to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen communication and dialogue, further expand cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, investment and green transition, and better deliver benefits to the two peoples. The CPC attaches importance to its friendly exchanges with the Danish Social Democratic Party, and is willing to further strengthen experience sharing on state governance and administration between the two Parties, promote youth exchanges, and advance the development of China-Denmark relations. China and the EU are comprehensive strategic partners. The fundamentals and the main tone of China-EU relations should be cooperation rather than competition. China is ready to resolve respective economic and trade concerns with the EU through dialogue and consultation, and achieve common development.

Engell-Rossen said that Denmark and China have broad areas of cooperation and shared interests, and bilateral relations continue to maintain a sound momentum of development. China's development achievements are impressive. Danish enterprises are full of confidence in China's development prospects, and will continue to deepen their presence in China. Inter-party exchanges and exchanges among young politicians are of great significance to the development of Denmark-China relations, and Denmark is ready to actively promote exchanges between the two Parties. Both the EU and China uphold multilateralism and free trade. Under the current circumstances, the two sides should strengthen communication and cooperation, and jointly inject more certainty into the world.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
