Wang Jiarui meets with Special Envoy of S. Korean President-Elect

BEIJING, Jan. 23 -- Minister Wang Jiarui of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Kim Moo-sung, special envoy of Republic of Korea (ROK) president-elect Park Geun-hye.

Wang commended the importance and timeliness of the Special Envoy's visit to China which shows that the President-Elect sets great store by China-ROK relations and demonstrates her willingness to continue development of the bilateral relations. The Communist Party of China and the Chinese Government also attach great importance to the strategic partnership of cooperation with the ROK and wish to join hands with the South Korean side to boost exchanges and cooperation at different levels and in various fields including party-to-party relations. Such efforts will be conducive to the development of respective countries and to regional peace and stability in general, said the Minister.

Kim Moo-sung conveyed the message of Park Geun-hye saying that she highly values the relations between the two countries and wishes to make use of the opportunity brought about by her new government to deepen relations with China in a number of areas including exchanges with the CPC. The President-Elect hopes that relations between China and the ROK will continue to deepen and expand on the foundation of the achievements made in the past 20 years.
