Ai Ping attends First Conference of African Political Parties Council

KHARTOUM, April 27 – Vice-minister Ai Ping of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee attended on April 27th the First Conference of the Council of the African Political Parties held in Khartoum, capital of Sudan, and delivered on the opening ceremony a message of congratulations from the CPC Central Committee.

Ai Ping said that it is of great significance for African political parties to meet together to talk about safeguarding peace, promoting development and improving people’s wellbeing at the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity. Attaching great important to its friendly cooperation with political parties in Africa, the CPC is ready to strengthen the exchanges with its African counterparts to make new and greater contribution to the all-rounded development of the new type of strategic partnership between China and Africa, said Ai.

Representatives from about 40 political parties in 20-odd African countries attended the two-day conference, which was initiated by Sudan. Some Asian and Latin American political parties and organizations were invited to attend the conference as observers.
