BEIJING, Sept. 13 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China met in Beijing on September 13th with Joseph Muscat, prime minister of Malta and leader of the Labor Party of Malta.

Yu spoke positively of the long-term constructive role of the Labor Party in promoting China-Malta relations and the fruitful results the two countries have achieved in growing the bilateral relations since the Labor Party took power half a year ago. Setting great store by its friendly relations with the Labor Party, the CPC is ready to further boost the party-to-party exchanges, share experience of governing the party and the country and build a more comprehensive and deep-going bilateral relationship, Yu said.

According to Muscat, his party has made important achievements in cooperation with the Chinese side in the short period of six months since it became the ruling party and the credit goes to its sound exchanges with the CPC over the past few years. He added that the Labor Party attaches great importance to its relations with the CPC and hoped that the two sides can maintain close contacts and further grow Malta-China relations.
