Yu Hongjun meets with New Irish ambassador to China

BEIJING, Nov. 28 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met in Beijing on 28th with the new Irish ambassador to China Paul Kavanagh.

Yu spoke highly of China-Ireland relations and said that the Communist Party of China attaches importance to the development of friendly relations with Irish political parties in and out of office and is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Irish parties for promoting the state-to-state relations between China and Ireland. Yu briefed the ambassador on the recently concluded 3rd Plenary Session of 18th Central Committee of the CPC.

Kavanagh also said that Ireland sets great store by the relations with China and is willing to work together with China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in different fields. The various Irish political parties also are willing to have relations with the CPC and exchange ideas so as to facilitate new progress in the bilateral relations between the two countries. China’s comprehensive deepening of the reforms will bring more opportunities to cooperation with Ireland, said the ambassador.
