Yu Hongjun meets with senior public servants from Fiji

SHANGHAI, October 2 -- Yu Hongjun, vice minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today in Shanghai with Fiji Senior Public Servants led by Naipote Tako Katoniabua, Acting Deputy Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, who are in China to attend a training workshop.

Yu positively evaluated China-Fiji relations and said that China appreciates the Fiji government for continuously upholding the one-China policy, respects the development path chosen by the Fijian people and will continue to offer help to Fiji to the best of its ability. Yu congratulated members of the workshop on having successfully finished their study and hoped that they will make greater contribution to Fiji's economic and social development back home, deliver better service to their people and do their part to continuously promote China-Fiji relations.

Katoniabua said that Fiji firmly upholds the one-China policy and is grateful for China's precious support in Fiji's economic and social development. The CPC's International Department and China Pudong Executive Leadership Academy have made thoughtful arrangements for the workshop where the members have benefited a great deal, he commended, affirming that Fiji looks forward to learning more from China's successful experience and to strengthening cooperation with China in various fields to promote Fiji's development.

At the invitation of the International Department, the Fiji Senior Public Servants delegation from various departments of the Fiji government, attended a training course on Leadership Building in China Pudong Executive Leadership Academy from September 21st to October 3rd, during which the group also went on a field visit to Lin Yi, Shandong.

Ma Hui, director general of Bureau VII of the CPC's International Department, Jiang Haishan, vice president of China Pudong Executive Leadership Academy and Leweni Neumi, Charge d'affaires of the Fiji Embassy in China were present at the meeting.
