BEIJING, Oct. 31 -- Yu Hongjun, vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held talks with a delegation of the New Zealand National Party led by party President Peter Goodfellow on Oct. 31. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-New Zealand relations and inter-party connections.
Yu said that the China-New Zealand relations feature strong political mutual trust and booming trade and economic cooperation, with broad prospects for cooperation.
He expressed the willingness of China to work together with New Zealand to further consolidate political mutual trust, enhance trade and economic ties and deepen cooperation in various fields to deliver more benefits to the two peoples.
He added that the CPC is ready for well-rounded and multi-layered exchanges with the NZ National Party through in-depth dialogue and mutual learning to further promote China-New Zealand comprehensive partnership.
Goodfellow commended the development of China as an important opportunity that New Zealand must grasp, adding that New Zealand regards its relations with China as a diplomatic priority.
He said that the New Zealand National Party is happy to strengthen exchanges with the CPC at different levels and in various areas to help further consolidate the political mutual trust and practical cooperation between the two countries.
