Toronto, January 25th–Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Bardish Chagger, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of Small Business and Tourism of Canada.

Song introduced the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and spoke positively of China-Canada relations. He expressed that since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Canada 48 years ago, China-Canada relations have made substantial progress under the joint efforts of both sides. Bardish Chagger congratulated the 19th CPC National Congress on achieving fruitful outcomes and bringing new opportunities for the development of all countries across the globe. The LPC government attaches great importance to Canada-China relations. Both countries share great potential for cooperation in science, technology, education, enterprise, tourism and people-to-people and cultural engagement. The Canadian side expects that the ruling parties of both countries could play an important role in developing Canada-China relations, so as to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation in all fields and push Canada-China relations for sustainable development.
