Beijing, July 2nd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and Secretary General of the Central Union of Cuban Workers (CTC).

Song spoke positively of the relations between the two parties and the two countries and congratulated Cuba on constantly making new achievements in its socialist cause recently. Song expressed that although China and Cuba are far apart, the common ideals and beliefs have enabled the two countries to always march forward side by side. The CPC attaches great importance to the development of the relations between the two parties, and is willing to further cement high-level exchanges between the two parties, strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and continue to play a good political leading role in the development of China-Cuba relations.

Song also promoted Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to the Cuban side. Guilarte warmly congratulated the CPC on the 97th anniversary of its founding.

Guilarte was impressed by his attendance at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting on behalf of the PCC at the end of last year, and extended heartfelt congratulations to China’s constant new and great achievements under the leadership of the CPC with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. Guilarte expressed that the relations between the two parties have always played a strategic leading role in the development of the relations between the two countries, and the PCC stands ready to further strengthen all-round cooperation with the CPC so as to promote the development of Cuba-China relations to a new level.
