Beijing, November 12th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Heiko Maas, Foreign Minister of Germany.
Song expressed that China and Germany enjoy frequent high-level exchanges in recent years. Bilateral political mutual trust has been increasingly enhanced, and relations between the two countries have maintained the sound development momentum. The CPC is willing to jointly establish a new type of inter-party relations with all main political parties of Germany including the Socialist Democratic Party on the basis of seeking common ground while setting aside differences, mutual respect, and mutual learning, and continue to well play a political guiding role for the development of relations between the two countries.
Maas noted that Germany attaches importance to developing relations between the two countries, and pays high attention to developing inter-party relations. It is expected that both sides will conduct extensive and in-depth dialogue on the development of relations between the two countries, and regional and international topics of common interest through strengthening inter-party exchanges between Germany and China.
