Beijing, April 23rd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) led by Julio Cesar Rodriguez, member of the PCC Central Committee and the first secretary of Pinar del Río Provincial Party Committee.
Song said that last year, President Xi Jinping and visiting President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez reached important consensus on developing the relations between China and Cuba in the new era. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cuban side to implement the consensus of the two heads of state and push China-Cuba relations for continuous and in-depth development. Since China and Cuba are socialist countries led by the Communist Party, relations between the two Parties play an irreplaceable political guiding role in the relations between the two countries. We are willing to exchange in-depth views with the Cuban side on experience in state governance and administration, so as to benefit the two countries and the two peoples and promote respective socialist cause.
Song expressed that this year marks the 60th anniversary of Cuba's revolution. Cuba has scored amazing development achievements through its adherence to the leadership of the Communist Party and the path of socialism as well as steady advancement of renewal of its economic and social model. We believe under the leadership of First Secretary Raúl Castro and President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, Cuba will continue to make new achievements in its socialist construction.
Speaking highly of the achievements of China’s reform and opening up, Rodriguez believed that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, socialism with Chinese characteristics will surely make greater progress, and the two centenary goals will surely be realized. The PCC is willing to strengthen exchanges with the CPC to push China-Cuba relations to new levels.
