The 8th Meeting of China-Japan Ruling Parties Exchange Mechanism Concludes in Tokyo

On October 12th, the 8th meeting of China-Japan ruling parties exchange mechanism concluded successfully in Tokyo, Japan. Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan and Tetsuo Saito, Secretary-General of the New Komeito Party (NKP) attended the closing ceremony.

The 8th meeting of China-Japan ruling parties exchange mechanism was co-hosted by the CPC, the LDP and the NKP. The meeting was held in Japan from October 10th to 12th. During the three-day meeting, the delegations of the ruling parties of China and Japan had candid and in-depth exchanges centering on topics on political mutual trust and practical cooperation, and passed a joint initiatives of the 8th meeting of China-Japan ruling parties exchange mechanism. Both sides spoke highly of the important role the ruling parties exchange mechanism of the two countries has played in the development of relations between the two countries, as well as expressed their willingness to continuously strengthen inter-party exchanges and practical cooperation and push the relations between the two countries for constant, stable and sound development, so as to make joint efforts to open up a new era for China-Japan relations.

Prior to the closing ceremony, a briefing session on the demonstration zone of China-Japan international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative was held. Zheng Xincong, Governor of the People’s Government of Fujian Province, introduced the planning and progress of the demonstration zone.
