Bangkok, March 31st—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group.  

Liu said, Thailand is one of the countries with the largest number of Chinese in the world. Overseas Chinese in Thailand have long made important contributions to promoting Thailand's economic and social development, and have also played a positive role in promoting the special friendship between the two countries. Next year, China and Thailand will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and the relations between the two countries will stand at a new historical starting point. It is expected that the Chearavanont family and Charoen Pokphand Group will continue to be supporters of China-Thailand economic cooperation, promoters of cultural exchanges, and communicators of people-to-people friendship. China's Two Sessions, which concluded not long ago, sent positive and clear signals such as promoting high-quality development with new quality productive forces and implementing high-level opening-up. The overall trend of long-term growth of China's economy has not changed and will not change. It will provide new development opportunities for countries around the world, especially neighboring countries including Thailand. Charoen Pokphand Group is welcome to make good use of the opportunities of China's high-quality development and high-level opening up to achieve greater development.  

Dhanin Chearavanont said, Chinese people in Thailand pay close attention to China's development. President Xi Jinping and the CPC have led China to achieve great economic and social development achievements. The current policies issued by China are on the right track with clear thinking, and all the essential factors for economic growth are well-established. China will surely achieve greater development. The Chinese in Thailand are full of confidence in this regard.
